St Patrick’s Day Party

St Patrick's Day Party

HONEST GATHERING. SOULFUL HOUSE. DIVINE MEALS.

Oh, hi there! “Where have I been, you ask?” Well, friends, like the last time I was absent for a little while, I was… well, busy. Glued to my chair to complete a series of my studio’s project deadlines, I was gasping for air towards the end of last week. I needed a break. Bad. To see my friends. To recharge. To “gather.” All summed up in the word ‘play.’ Who doesn’t love to play, right?

It was a warm and bright winter day. A perfect day to play, so off I went to Lisa’s cozy, serene home in the middle of the city. Hugged by two big trees, and an organically beautiful garden, her cute little house welcomed us cheerfully. I love everything about that place. I love what she and her other half Brian have done to it. The both of them are not only good craftsmen, but they both are such great cooks! So, being invited to their place feels like winning a lottery. Every time without fail. A feast for my eyes, soul and definitely tummy 🙂

Collaborating on a St. Patty’s Day feast, you guys will find Lisa’s writing tomorrow. And, yes, she’s also a very good writer. It’s almost unfair with the amount of talent packed into one person named Lisa. Maybe you recall me talking on & on about her last Summer, but why stop now, right? Guys, today’s post is about capturing the heart of St. Patty’s celebration at Brian and Lisa’s. Let’s start with this art she made for Spring. A floating centerpiece, a beautiful tree branch decorated with foliage and moss, with a string of lights and little lanterns above her dining table. Magical. When I took a picture of it I felt like I was about to meet ‘Arwen – Lady of Rivendell’ – (of The Lord of the Rings series), and hangout. Like I said, magical!

Every nook of Lisa’s place is filled with beautiful objects that are either found, crafted or passed down through generations. Lisa’s love of typography is displayed on her chalkboard wall. Every nook and cranny is designed just so in spite of her massive collection of accessories and other practical things. AMAZING!

Lisa single handedly decorated, shopped, prepared, and cooked for this year’s St. Patty’s. On her well thought out menu, it listed:

Irish Soda Bread

Colcannon

Corned Beef with Roasted Carrots

Irish Apple Cake with Custard

All Gluten Free. Yummy Gluten Free Feast!

Yes, I tip my hat to this creative, saintly, extremely talented yet down-to-earth friend of mine, Lisa. You’re incredible my friend… “I love you.”

Here are some pictures I took of the gathering. I hope you guys are inspired, like the classic Irish Proverb says: “May love and laughter light your days, and warm your heart and home. May good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam…”
