Nancy’s Ooey Gooey Butter Bars
Makes one 9"x13" baking pan (or 12 Bars)
  • 1 box Butter Cake Mix (I use Duncan Hines Butter Golden)
  • 4 eggs, at room temperature, divided
  • 4 oz. unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Using a hand-held mixer, beat together cake mix, 2 eggs and melted butter in a medium bowl until well combined. Spread the batter evenly over a well greased 9”x13” baking pan. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, cream cheese and the rest of the eggs together. Spread on top of the batter. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The top will settle. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let cool completely. To put it over the top sweet, sprinkle with some powdered sugar.
